Guiding Families

The prevalence of Americans with 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 remains significant. Under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), more than 8.1 million children ages 3–21 received special education services during the 2023–24 school year — about 15% of all public school students. The effects on the child’s family are even more profound – ranging from shock and grief to stress and anxiety.

Fortunately, affected families don’t have to go it alone. “Various programs provided services,” said the foster parent of four children with developmental disabilities. “If not for these services, my children would not have a positive outcome in life.”

The question is: How can families navigate the bureaucratic maze to obtain these resources? The answer: An agency that guides residents of Cuyahoga, Lake, and Lorain counties.

“A family in need of support usually feels confused and overwhelmed,” said Lorraine Glover, owner and operator of Mosezit Moore House, LLC. “When that happens, we are happy to help. In both their homes and in the community, we provide the services that families need to live a full life.”
